Rev. Gilbert Akanguyue Awaasi is a dynamic and ambitious Chartered Accountant and a full member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) in good standing. He is also an astute and experienced Australian Public Accountant and Tax Advisor, a British Certified Financial Accountant, and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Ghana & Global (IIAG). Furthermore, he is a full member of the Chartered Tax Law & Forensic Accountants, Ghana, holds a certificate from the International Institute of Certified Forensic Professionals USA, INC, and has a certificate in Investigative Accounting and Forensic Auditing.
Rev. Awaasi has an impressive educational background, including a Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance from Coventry University, UK, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies, and a Masters in Theology/Divinity from Christian Leadership University-USA. He also holds a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from Takoradi Polytechnic, now Takoradi Technical University.
In his professional career, Rev. Awaasi was the coordinator and Lecturer of Aspire Professional Institute for Western and Central regions, an ICAG-licensed body designated to train, mentor, and nurture students to attain chartered status with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. Additionally, Gilbert is currently a part-time lecturer with the Ghana Communication Technology University and the Institute of Chartered Tax Law & Forensic Accountants, Ghana. He lectures courses such as Public Financial Management, Advanced Financial Reporting, Advanced Business Forensics and Ethical Consultancy, Cross Border Taxation, Managerial Accounting and Finance, Advanced Taxation, Corporate Reporting, Public Sector Accounting, and Strategic Management.
Rev. Gilbert is currently the Senior Internal Auditor of Ghana Communication Technology University and possesses over fifteen (15) years of working experience spanning from the oil and gas industry, the educational sector, the Ghana Revenue Authority, and the health sector. Rev. Gilbert has the right attitude that fits into any existing highly skilled team and brings the same passion and drive to every assignment he works on. He is a well-organized individual with strong analytical skills, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize effectively and be flexible where necessary.
