Mr. Stephen Osei is a Chartered Accountant and a retired tax auditor at the Ghana Revenue Authority. Mr. Osei rose through the ranks and attained a deputy head at the Makola Taxpayer Services Centre. He has been consulting for both government and private institutions for over 20 years now. He is an astute tax practitioner.
Mr. Osei worked as a tax auditor at the Large Taxpayer Office for 12 years. His expertise warranted his transfer to the Makola Branch in Accra in 2015 to pluck the loopholes for SME in compliance matters. He was thus promoted to Deputy Head in 2017, having demonstrated competence and ensured higher than normal target achievement in SME tax revenue mobilisation exercise, till his retirement in 2021.
He is also an associate member of WM Consult and a Tax Consultant at WM Consult (part time). He is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountant, Ghana (ICAG).
He has rich experience in tax auditing, control & verifications, compliance, enforcement, debt management, financial analysis and forecasting. Mr. Osei has considerable expertise and in-depth knowledge in IFRS and related financial reporting research documents.
As a lecturer of the Institute, Mr. Osei currently handles Advanced Tax Audit Practice at the Professional Level and Tax Planning, Strategy and Compliance at the Managerial Level.
Mr. Osei holds B.Sc. Admin (Accounting option) from the University of Ghana; Executive Master of Business Administration and qualified as Chartered Accountant, Institute of Chartered Accountant, Ghana (ICAG).
